Samak ki Kheer | Moraya/Sawa Pudding
Navratri Day 3
1/2 cup samak/swang/sawa /moraya millet
3 cups whole milk
1/2 cup sugar or to taste
2 teaspoon ghee/clarified butter
few saffron starnds
1 tablespoon cashew nuts
1 tablespoon almonds
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Add saffron in 1/4 cup of warm milk and set aside.Fry the cashew and almonds in ghee and set aside.
Wash and drain sawa millet in water.
Heat milk in a saucepan or heavy bottom pan.Bring it to boil.
Add the washed sawa millets in it and cook on simmer for 15 to 20 minutes ,stirring occasionally.
Add sugar ,cardamom powder and cook again for 8-10 minutes.
Finally add saffron milk and fried almonds and cashew nuts.
Serve warm or chilled.
