In a large bowl, add sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast and let it stand for about 10 minutes, until foamy.
Stir the olive oil and salt into the yeast mixture, then mix in the whole wheat flour and the all-purpose flour and knead a smooth dough.
Place dough in a bowl. Cover loosely with a towel, and let it stand in a warm place until doubled in size or at least for 1 hour.
When the dough is doubled, with the help of dry flour, make two balls from it.
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Roll a ball of dough with a rolling pin until it will not stretch any further or to the shape and size of your choice. Prick it with a fork with proper spacing.
Top pizza with a layer of pizza sauce and spread cheese evenly.
Cut the dough into medium thick strips. Take one strip and cut it into two hales but make sure to not cut all the way to the one end.
Start overlapping the two strips of dough over each other making a braid like shape. Once you reach the end bing it towards making a circle shape and pinch the edges together.
Brush them with olive oil and sprkle the herbs.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until the crust, is crisp and golden at the edges, and cheese is melted on the top.
