A very nutritious and healthy broken wheat and moong dal khichdi. This khichdi is not even filled with all healthy benefits but tastes amazing too.

turmeric powder
salt to taste

ghee

water
Instructions
In a pan add a teaspoon of ghee and broken wheat. Rost the broken wheat until slightly fragrant. Keep it aside.
Wash and drain moong dal and set aside.
In a pressure cooker heat the remaining ghee. Add cumin seeds and onions. Saute until onions are slightly golden in color.
Now add salt, turmeric and coriander powder. Stir and add tomatoes.
Let the tomatoes soften a bit, and add green peas. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Finally, add roasted broken wheat, and drained moong dal. Mix well.
Add 4 cups of water and let it pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
Remove from heat and serve warm with pickle.
Notes
If you want to make it vegan simply replace the ghee with oil.
