Coconut Malai Ladoo

A melt in mouth kind ladoo made with coconut and cream with a hint of saffron and cardamom. This ladoo are just perfect for after meals sweet indulgence.

Ingredients
2
cups
desiccated coconut
1
cup
fresh milk cream
1/2
cup
whole milk
1/4
cup
honey or you can use sugar to taste
1
teaspoon
cardamom,
pounded
few saffron strands
Instructions
Dissolve saffron strands in 1/4 cup of warm milk and set aside.
In a heavy bottom, pan add desiccated coconut, milk, milk cream and sugar and cook on low to medium heat.
Keep stirring in between and let the mixture thickens for about 15 minutes.
Once the mixture starts thickening add saffron milk and cardamom.
Keep cooking for a few minutes more until all the moisture evaporates from the coconut.
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly, just enough to handle with hands.
Make small round balls of desired size and transfer in an airtight container lined with parchment paper.
Serve and enjoy.
Notes
You may add any other flavors like rose or kewra.
If desired add some food color to make the ladoo look colorful.
