samak/swang/sawa /moriyo or barnyard millet

whole milk

cup
sugar or to taste

teaspoon
ghee/clarified butter
few saffron strands

tablespoon
cashew nuts
1
tablespoon
almonds
1/2
teaspoon
cardamom powder
Instructions
Add saffron in 1/4 cup of warm milk and set aside.Fry the cashew and almonds in ghee and set aside.
Wash and drain barnyard millet in water.
Heat milk in a saucepan or heavy bottom pan.Bring it to boil.
Add the washed barnyard millets in it and cook on simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add sugar ,cardamom powder and cook again for 8-10 minutes.
Finally, add saffron milk and fried almonds and cashew nuts.
Serve warm or chilled.
Notes
Adjust sugar as per your taste preferences.
Make sure to use a heavy bottom pan and frequent stirring to avoid sticking to the pan.
