A week before making the cake soak the prunes and raisins into the wine in a glass container
When making the cake preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 8" cake tin with butter and dust with flour.
In a mixing bowl sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Stir all ingredients together.
In another bowl whisk together oil and sugar until creamy. Stir in vanilla, juice and molasses and mix well.
Add the soaked fruits along with wine into the molasses mixture.
Add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients in two batches and fold in all ingredients together. If the batter seems dry add two tablespoons of water.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin. Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted come out clean.
Remove the cake from oven and let it cool in the pan. Drizzle more wine on top of the cake. Cover with cling wrap before serving.
Slice and serve. Store the leftover cake in refrigerator.

For better results soak the fruits in wine a day before making the cake.
