Roasted Brussel Sprouts
Oven-roasted Brussels sprouts dressed in vinegar and dried herbs dressing. I have never cooked with Brussels sprouts before and this is the first time I used them in any of the recipes. When I saw the sprouts in the market and bought one bag and then started the search for recipes.
Luckily, I found this roasted Brussels recipe at Damn delicious and loved it. It was a nice and delicious side dish to serve along with Christmas dinner.
Ingredients Needed for Roasted Brussel Sprouts
- Brussels sprouts: Seasonal fresh Brussel sprouts, washed and cut in halves.
- Carrots: Fresh carrots cut in round or oval shape.
- Garlic cloves: Minced garlic adds a very nice and strong exquisite flavor to the roasted veggies.
- Balsamic vinegar: To balance the sweetness of the carrots and it also adds a nice tang to the dish.
- Olive oil: It helps in getting the oven-roasted vegetables crispier and tastier.
- Honey or maple syrup Adds nice flavors to the vegetables.
- Parsley and thyme: Fresh or ground parsley and thyme tastes amazing with roasted Brussel sprouts.
- Salt and Pepper: For seasoning.
How to make Roasted Brussel Sprouts?
Step 1. Preheat oven and make Dressing– Preheat oven to 200°C and grease a baking tray with oil. In a mixing bowl add garlic cloves, olive oil, vinegar, honey, salt, pepper, thyme, and parsley. Whisk to combine.
Step 2. Roast the Sprouts– Add the Brussels sprouts and carrots into the dressing. Mix well until the dressing coats well with sprouts. Arrange them on the baking tray in a single line. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until done. Remove from oven. Serve garnished with cranberries if desired and enjoy.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the roasted Brussel sprouts with shepherd’s pie, Christmas punch, or pair as a side with any of your favorite Christmas dish. Thye taste just amazing with a glass of wine as well.
I love to store the leftovers in refrigerator but let me tell you there wom’t be any leftovers to store.That’s how much tasty these sprouts are!
Pro Tips
- Make sure to wash and pat dry the sprouts properly before roasting.
- The dressing tastes amazing but if you want some extra zing add a teaspoon of paprika to it.
- Keep an eye on your oven after 15 minutes as they may burn.
- Add any of your favorite winter vegetables to this.
