Hey Lana, Thanks for trying the recipe. Using whole wheat is a nice and healthy idea.
We love eating spicy food. I used the exact amount of peppers but as you mentioned the use of fewer peppers, I am glad it worked for you.

I used all wholewheat flour. The recipe called for 2 tablespoons jalapeno pepper. I used 2 teaspoons but the bread was stil quite hot. However, the texture was great. I will make it again, but with less pepper.
