Potatoes are everyone’s favorite.Jeera Aloo is a simple yet resist less preparation of potatoes tempered with cumin seeds and flavored with common spices.It’s a perfect side dish and goes well with Chapati or Puri.
It’s a perfect combination as cumin seeds help in digesting the dish too.My daughter’s favorite and a is a must every fortnight.It takes very less time if prepared with boiled potatoes .A must try for all potato lovers that can’t stop you craving for this dish.
Ingredients:
2 potato cut in cubes
1 chopped green chilly
2 teaspoon grated ginger
1/2 pinch asefetida
1 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Spices:
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 teaspoon deggi mirch
1/2 teaspoon dried mango powder
1/2 teaspoon pomegranate seeds powder(anardana)
Salt to taste
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon olive oil
Method:
Heat oil in a wok , add asefetida ,fenugreek leaves and cumin seeds.Saute for 1 minute and add ginger and green chillies.Stir and add potato cubes.Mix well.
Cover the lid and let it cook for 10-15 minutes till potatoes are tender.Frequent stirring is required in between.
Add all spices and salt , mix and cook for 5 minutes.
Transfer to serving bowl , pour olive oil before serving.
Serve with Poori,Rice,Paratha ,Chapati or Bread.
