American Style Potato Salad
A creamy, tangy and delicious American style cold potato salad that would make a nice and be filling midday meal.
This is a favourite American potato salad which is super crunchy, refreshing and delicious as well. It is served cold or at room temperature and is usually serves as a main course dish.
When I made the salad my both girls loved it as they love eating potatoes in any form. I used homemade eggless mayonnaise but as always if you love eggs use the regular mayo and eggs too in the salad to make it more filling.

A creamy, tangy and delicious American style cold potato salad that would make a nice and filling midday meal.
- 1 lb rooster potatoes,
- 1 small red onion, chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- salt to taste
- 1/2 cup egg-free mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
Wash and peel potatoes and slice into small cubes. Fill a saucepan with water and add potatoes to it.
Bring it to boil and add salt, cook, until potatoes are tender. Drain the water and add vinegar to the potatoes.
In a mixing bowl add the potatoes mayonnaise and the remaining ingredients for dressing. Mix well gently toss and serve cold.
Serve immediately or chill in refrigerator before serving.
Add the seasonings as per your taste.
