Dhuli Moong Dal Kchichdi
This dish has both carbohydrates from rice and protein from dal and it makes a complete and filling meal.It tastes best with papad,pickle,yogurt and chutney.As they say “Khichdi ke chaar yaar -dahi,papad,chutney,achaar”.The dish has been lying in my draft for ages and finally I posted it for the theme rice dishes.

Theme– Rice Dishes/Mixed Rice
Dish-Dhuli Moong Dal Khichdi
1 cup moong dal,washed yellow dal
1/2 cup rice
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoon ghee
Water as required
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.Add cumin seeds and onions.Saute for 2-3 minutes or until onions are brown.
Now add tomatoes,salt and turmeric powder.Stir and cook until tomatoes are done.
Add washed dal and rice.Stir and add 3 cups of water.
Cook for 2 whistles .Open lid and serve hot drizzle with more ghee, pickle and yogurt.
