Salgam ki Sabzi |Turnip Curry

Salgam ki sabzi ,Today’s recipe is one of my MIl’s recipe and it taste perfect in those cold days.The other week of Blogging Marathon has started and my theme for the week is Family Recipes.I will be sharing some of my family favorite recipes.When I look back in my index I could find that most of my everyday family recipes are still not there.


One of them dish is Salgam ki sabzi or turnip dry curry.In winters we would always make this mild and delicious curry and it goes well with roti or plain paratha.

The salgam sabzi recipe is quite simple and you need only few ingredients for the same.One more recipe of turnip that I have on my blog is this winter special pickle.

Dish-Salgam curry

Ingredients:
250g turnip/salgam,sliced
1 onion,sliced
1 tomato,chopped
2 green chilly chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seds
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
salt to atste
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
2 tablespoon oil
1/4 cup coriander leaves,chopped

Method:
Heat oil in a pan or wok.Add cumin seeds and sliced onions.Saute till onions are brown.
Now add sliced turnips.Cook covered till turnips are tender.
Add tomatoes and green chilli from the sides of pan.Now add all spice powders and salt.
Mix well and cook till tomatoes are done and oil comes out from the edges of pan.
Remove from heat and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with roti.

Serve-4       Cooking time-25 minutes
