Pheni |Ramdan Special Desert

We are in the next week of Blooging marathon and my theme for the week is cooking festival recipes across the globe.Last month was celebrated as Ramadan month ending today so for first day I made Ramadan special desert Pheni. Pheni is the fried vermicelli that is served during Iftar in mostly Muslim families .
I used store bought pheni to make the desert . It is very rich and delicious treat and tasted best when served warm.So let’s start the recipe yum.

100 gm Pheni
2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar or as per taste
Few saffron strands
Few cashew nuts
1 teaspoon clarified butter/ghee

Add saffron starnds in 2 tablespoon of warm milk and set it aside.
Heat ghee in a sauce pan and fry cashew nuts for a minute till light golden in color.Remove the cashenuts from ghee.
Add milk in the same pan and bring it to boil.Add sugar and pheni and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Add saffron milk , stir and add cashew nuts.

Serve warm or chilled.
