Kadai Paneer | How to make Kadahi Paneer

Kadai Paneer is the Famous North Indian paneer dish normally served in mostly restaurants. It can be prepared in dry or semi dry version that is with a little gravy. I wanted to make something for this week CCChallenge and found this recipe in my drafts. I cooked this recipe from my diary which has hundreds of hand written recipes from newspaper and TV cookery shows. I made this few months back when we were in India and forget to post it.

This is a wonderful and easy Paneer dish that can be served to guests as well. So let’s start the recipe .yum

250 gm Paneer/Cottage cheese,cubed
1 capsicum ,chopped
1 onion,chopped
2 tomatoes , chopped
2 green chillies,chopped
2 teaspoon ginger,grated
2 teaspoon garlic,grated

1teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red Chilli powder
2 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teapot kasuri methi
Salt to taste

1 bay leave
2-3 cloves
2-3 peppercorn
4 tablespoon oil
Few Coriander leaves,chopped


Heat oil in a Kadai /Wok and add bay leave,cloves and peppercorn.Stir and add ginger and garlic.
Sauté and add chopped onions , stir for few minutes till golden in color.Now add all spices and salt . Mix well.
Add chopped tomatoes and green Chilli and cook till tomatoes are soft and oil comes out from sides of Kadai.
Now add chopped capsicum and cook for 3-4 minutes. Finally add cubed paneer , mix and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with Paratha or rice.

Serve-4. Cooking time-25 minutes
