This is a wonderful curry that goes well with Dosa and Poori as well. Tomorrow I will be posting Masala Dosa recipe. So let’s start the recipe .Yum
6 medium sized potatoes , boiled & peeled
1 onion , chopped
2-3 green chillies , chopped
2 teaspoon ginger , grated
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 pinch Asefetida
2 teaspoon split black gram/Dhuli urad dal
1 tablespoon cashew nuts
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
8-10 curry leaves
3 tablespoon cooking oil
1/4 cup water
Peel and mash the potatoes with vegetable masher and set aside.
Heat oil in a wok , add Asefetida , cumin seeds and split urad dal . Stir and add onions, green chillies, curry leaves , cashew nuts and ginger. Sauté for 1 minute. Add turmeric powder and salt.
Add mashed potato and mix well. And add 1/4 cup of water.Let it cook for 4-5 minutes on low heat with covered lid.
Open the lid , give a nice stir and use as spreading for masala dosa or accompanied with hot Pooris.
Serve-4. Cooking time -15 minutes.
