Matar Soya granules curry

Spicy and tasty peas and soya granules aka matar soya keema curry that is damn delicious to try with roti.

Soya products are filled with enormous amount of protein, iron, calcium or in short, we can say that full of calories. I always used them for making cutlets, curry, pulav , biryani and toast.Soya granules curry with peas is now my all-time favourite, an excellent side dish accompanied with rice or chapati.
Normally I preferred to use Soya chunks for curry but someday I tasted soya granules curry at a friend’ place and it tastes super delicious that I started preparing it twice in a month. This preparation is effortless to cook and so scrumptious to relish that if you tried it once, you gonna LOVE it.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup soya granules
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup ginger garlic onion paste
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon green chilly paste
Spices:
  • 1/2 pinch asefetida
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon chopped coriander
Instructions
  1. Boil enough water with a pinch of salt in a pan, add soya granules, stir for 1 minute and squeeze out from the water.Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan or wok, add Asafetida and cumin seeds.stir and add ginger-garlic-onion paste
  3. Let it cook until golden in colour.
  4. Now add all spices and salt, stir in and add tomato paste followed by green chilly paste.Cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add peas in it, let it cook till peas are tender and oil comes out from edges.It may take 10-15 minutes.
  6. Add squeezed soya granules, mix with peas masala and cook for few minutes.
  7. Remove from heat, add chopped coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with Rice, Chapati or bread.
Recipe Notes
If you like this you may also like Aloo Soya Chunks Curry, Soya Chunks Biryani and Vegetarian Kebabs. Blend one onion, 4 garlic cloves and a small piece of ginger to make the paste. Don't let soya granules in water for a long time. You can use boiled peas instead of fresh ones, in that case, cook them only for 5 minutes and then add soya granules. Peas can be replaced with any vegetable of your choice.
